Support Group ....

Hi there!
Have any of you attended the support group meetings held monthly at the Royal Alex?  Because of my shift working hectic schedule I have not made it yet, but am curious as to what goes on there .... If someone goes or has been, can you let me know your thoughts?  Does anyone know of any other support groups for WLS in the area? Thanks!

My name is Alex and I'm one of the executives who help run the EBSG (Edmonton Bariatric Support Group) meetings.  Sorry for the delay in my response as I just had my revision surgery last week.

Generally speaking, it's just a place for pre/op bariatric surgery patients to gather to talk about their journeys, issues with their surgeries, coping with life after surgery, what's the reality versus what the clinic sasy, etc etc.  At this point, it's more social than informaitonal as the exec is working on developing some directions to take the group, but it all okay,  Everyone is welcome to come and participate or just listen.

If you have any specific quesitons, please let me know.
