Calorie question 15 month post-op
Ok how many calories are we suppose to be consuming this far out( long term) I was under the impression it 1000-1200/ day. I can eat that no problems these days. My weight has been the same since October 2011 at 175. I find if I don't eat that many I have trouble working out and feel tired all the time. What do you think??? I see some people don't eat that much and I'm worried? I live on Fuits and veggies/salads as well as lean protein and fat free dairy. I eat 4-5 meals a day about 3hours between each. 6-8 glasses of water daily. I going to see the dietitian, but I hope I'm on the right track!!
Sounds like you are on the right track. My dietitian is Sherry and she is pushing for me to be at 1200-1400 calories daily so that I can do weight maintenance. Mostly I do follow her advice but right now I'm still about 6 pounds from my personal goal of 150 so I've cut my intake back a little to try and achieve this goal but like you I have to be careful cause it makes me tired and feel out of sorts. I still try to eat only 1/2 cup servings and no more than a cup of combined foods but I go through phases where it's all about fruit and protein and then for months it's all about salads. I do have carbs but limit my daily intake of these and try to have nuts and things like jello with cool whip for snacks. I still struggle with drinking lots of water, even though tomorrow I'll be 19 months out of surgery it still is hard to eat and drink what I should in a day. For a while I had let junkie food back in my diet and craved chocolate all the time so I had a sit down with myself and a talk sort of speak and have been doing better with it.
Good Luck.

I think average people eat between 2000- 2200 calories, shouldn't we be around there if trying to maintain? I am easily 1600- 2000 calories a day and not at my goal weight yet, time to have a little sit down with myself.. right kee? :)That and my boyfriend thinks we need to have chinese buffet atleast once a week :(
Im trying to change goals from weight to strength and learning to run, loving yoga and zumba just trying to keep my mind from numbers. Im still losing a little a couple LBS a month.
