Waiting for the call....

 Is killing me!  I was approved for surgery with Dr. Birch on March 12,2012.    At that time he told me surgery would be quick between 4-6 weeks.  It is so hard to schedule life and child care ( my daughter is disabled and does not walk so my in laws are coming from out of province) when I don't have a date.

Is anyone else dealing with this anxiety?

 It's hard to wait ... Once the decision for surgery is made you want the time to go FAST!!  I know I did!  It will happen .... I hope that call comes soon!

I am dealing with something similar. I am in the Calgary program and the doctor is meeting with the rest of his team of dieticians, nurse, and psychologist to decide which 25 people out of the 300 that are hoping for surgery will be chosen.

Hopefully they will give you enough time to get all your affairs in order.

Im on the same boat... i signed my revision papers from lap band to sleeve revision. Dr. Degara from the revision clinic said it should be before end of july... i cannot wait to restart this journey and start losing weight again.

I believe the admissions will call u with a date 3weeks before. Thats what ive heard. Hopefully its before so u can arrange everything.

 hey cutiegirl01, by chance were you in the "preparing for bariatric surgery class " at weight wise clinic on mar 30? your story is one i heard there. if it helps, call lorraine and explain your situation, i have her number, if you want to private message me. im, niki, my husband and i were in the class aswell. i got my date a couple of days ago, its june 5. so i got plenty of notice to book my flights and hotel ( im from winnipeg) hope this helps. im not sure how different it is cuz my surgeon is dr karmali.

 Hi niki. I recognize you!  Great to catch up with you on here!  I finally called Lorraine this morning and explained my situation and I got my date of June 12!!,  so excited but it seems so far away!  

 I saw Birch on March 26th and I thought I would have heard by now.
Have you heard yet??? its a month already for you, it's so hard waiting hey?

 i know, june feels close but so far, when we think of it in terms of how much time we already put into the program its not bad, but its april, and its 2 months till june! sheesh! lol.
i actually originally got a date of may 23, i was so excited, called everyone i knew, started making childcare arrangments, the whole 9 yards, then lorraine called me back the next day and had to reschedule me to june 5, :( i was disapointed, it felt like a months differance from may to june, but its really only 2 weeks. it just really doesnt fit into my hubbys work schedule now :( so he cant come with me, so my cousin offered to come with me, it wont be the same at all. i have mental health issues, and my dh supports me tons. im happily medicated but we dont know what to expect absorbtion-wise right after surgery. it will be interesting to say the least! lol.
im glad that you got your date, i understand the stress of not knowing when you have flights, ect to worry about booking.
