Waiting for Surgery Date
Hi Everyone,
I was approved for surgery and had my surgeon appointment on Feb. 27th with Dr. Birch. Does anyone know how long I wait before I get the phone call to provide me with a surgery date? I was told soon but wondering how soon. At this point I don't have much patience left, the surgery and effects are all I can think about. I am hoping it will take the edge off once I get my surgery date. I know this seems trivial, but when you get this far, it's hard to take LOL.

Hi there! I'm right behind you and wondering the same thing. I see Dr Birch on Monday and am approved for surgery. I seem to only think about surgery these days. I have a disabled toddler and have to have the in laws come and help so just want to know.
What surgery are you getting?

It took a couple of weeks to get the phone call from the hospital with the actual surgery date. They also give you a date for the pre admission clinic. I will be having my surgery on March 20.. It is fast approaching! Since I am a nurse, I will now be a patient, and thats hard for me. You may be surprised how quick the call will come. I'm nervous, a little scared, and also excited! As someone else posted in these forums, I'm "taking my life back"!

Hi BJ,
I am also a med. professional. I see the surgeon in a week or two.
I knew their (WWC) increased funding would likely make the wait times quick, a few weeks, eek guess we better get ready. I am seeing Birch, you?
Really not sure what type to have I understand he does a review of all the surgeries with you.
What did you decide on and why? I have done all the reading and followed Sharma's blog for a few years already. Shocked I am still undecided. Banding seems to not be the greatest for results but a sleeve is that more invasive ( changing the normal anatomical structures permenantly ).
Please share you decision making process?
Good luck
