Waiting for my pants to fall
I lost 30 pounds in 42 days and I am still doing the one cup diet. Despite the weight loss I have really gone down a dress size. My pants are starting to slip a bit but not off my hips. I can't wait for that day...to go down a size. I haven't been this successful ever. I have lost in shirt sizes before but not much...pant size sadly never.
Any post opers out there...when did you notice a dress size change?

Congrats on your loss! You are doing very well, be proud of yourself.
Mine dropped rapidly when I started to lose. I started out at a VERY tight 24 and within a very short time (before surgery and shortly after) I was at a 16. I couldn't afford to buy pants at every size so I usually "lived" with it until I couldn't anymore. My hubby had to put a whole bunch of new holes in my belt so I could keep my pants up lol. I also frequented Value Village to find cheaper clothes.

Thank you. I am proud of myself. It was hard to do and I was worried about this one cup diet but every day it gets easier and easier. The more I do the closer I get to surgery.
Sadly I was at size 32. It was quite depressing to be at the highest size in the store. I won't go into the emotional eating and how I got to that spot but now I am loosing and that is all the matters. I have clothes in my closet for size 30, 28 and 26 so I will be good for a bit because for some reason I lose tops faster than bottoms. I carry a lot of weight in my lower half so it has been a slow go.
I look forward to the day where I don't have to buy the highest size in the store or even shop at a plus size store all together. My options have been so limited for clothes.

I lost 60lbs 3 years ago in a 7 month time frame.....i went down 2 shirt sizes and only one pant size... I too carry a lot of extra weight around my hips, stomach and butt...i worry about not losing enough down there and too much on top :(
Value village is a great idea, and if you see stuff on sale in a size or 2 smaller grab it and make yourself a time capsule gift!
I just did this....I go for surgery before July (no set date yet) and i had an additional card (spend $100 save $50) and i didnt want it to go to waste...but i didnt want to buy any more clothes in the size i am now....so i bought a pair of jeans 2 sizes smaller and 2 shirts that are 2 sizes smaller...and a 5 prs of undies some one size smaller, some 2....and wrote my self a letter and tucked it all away in my closet....i figure by the time i need them i wont fit anything (including undies) in my closet and i'll need a wardrobe boost...and with an encouraging letter from myself too...
might seem silly to some...but for me I know i'll need a boost like that...
:)
I also like to write myself a "year of review letter" and tuck it in my Christmas tree box every year to see how my year went vs how i thought it would....

That's a wonderful idea to write yourself a letter for the future. I should do that.
I have been getting my spouse to take photos of me on each weigh in day. He takes a straight on shot and a side view. I do this once a month. After surgery I might do it every two weeks. I want to keep a scrapbook of my journey.
Good for you for losing 60 lbs yourself. I did that once - 50 lbs on my own.
Now I have lost 37 pounds with the one cup diet that the Red Deer clinic prescribes. I hope to have surgery in the summer but we shall see. I am still doing all the appointments.
I got a Penningtons gift card for Christmas. I haven't used it yet. I am waiting a while. I have a few different sizes of clothing in my closet so i will be good for a bit. I might end up going to get a nice pair of comfy clothes and a house coat for when I go into the hospital.

At the Red Deer clinic we have to eat three 1 cup meals a day. Limited to no snacking. I don't snack because I think it will make me more hungry. We measure our food per meal...whatever you can fit in the cup. It helps train us to eat for after surgery and gets us thinking about portion sizes and healthy eating. It has been hard. The first month was definitely difficult.
