I had panni surgery Oct. 19.  I had a few complicatons and my incision finally closed appox. 6 wks. ago....Here's my problem....I have "dog ears" at each end of my incision.  my stomach seems to have drooped...and my pubic area which was supposed to be lifted, seems like it is still very swollen and full of fluid.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I can't sleep on my stomach yet..oh i wish i could !!

Any thoughts would be appreciated !!

It makes sense that your still swelling, from what I've read and what I've experienced that you swell for up to a year.  I'm coming up on 7 months out and at the end of each day I am quite swollen, it looks like I have a belly instead of it being completely flat in the mornings.  You're in what they call "swell hell". Swelling is also affected by gravity so it also makes sense that your mons area is more swollen.  If you're worried about it, though, I'd go in and have your surgeon look at it and they will let you know if it's normal or not.  Definitely go in if any of it is causing you pain, it shouldn't at this point.

Has your surgeon seen your dog ears? If you had your panni surgery done covered by Alberta Health Care then any further corrective surgeries related to that one are also covered.  If you are unhappy with your dog ears then you should ask your surgeon to fix them, apparently it's an easy surgery that they do right there in the office under local anesthetic.

I didn't go back yet for my 6 month check-up but I'm not too worried about it.  My dr has to do a couple of little fixes that are covered but I just don't want to go through that right now.  I will go when I'm ready for it.

Hope that helps!

Jill
