...these are definitely the stories I like to hear!   How did you make it happen?  What was the first month like?  What sort of foods are you eating now?

 Hi BJ,
Hey I see you saw Dr. Birch and he did the sleeve surgery on you.
I see him next week. I seem to be reading the Birch prefers the to do band or RNY.I get the feeling he pushes the RNY as it produces the best weight loss results.
I am going to ask him for the sleeve,  I have done the research, not that there is much on the sleeve.
I see you had him agree to the sleeve on you.
i am wondering what your issues were that lead to him thinking the sleeve would work? my issues are Hypertension, arthritis, BMI 37% , no diabetis, perimenopausal, zero metabolism and about 80- 90 lbs to lose.
What was the main reason he agreed to the sleeve in your case?
Thanks in advance for your input, this is the best kind of research, so happy I found this site!!!

I copied this from my post in the main section..... I seem to eat most foods, stuff I dont touch is bread, rice, pasta that kind of stuff.

Thanks all!!  One thing that has worked for me is I weigh myself every morning, I know they say not to but it keeps me in line. I know my motoviaton now is clothes. I am a size 8/10 now and use to be 22/24 so that there keeps me going. I love shopping who knew!! I am in love with Ricki's and have lost so much now that I cant wear my hubbys clothes (200 lbs) but thats a good thing.

One thing I dont like so much is when we go out to eat or even eat at home , I dont eat enough to justify going places or eating things just I like. Most of the time out I will eat of their plates, hubby and my two boys.

One thing I hate is asking them what they want to eat and get I dont know LOL, I eat so little that I guess I cater to their tastebuds LOL. I do eat pretty much everything I use my 1/2 cup container for things other than meat. I can mostly eyeball meat and get just the right amount.

Another thing I hate is people asking me how do you feel, you must feel great now that you weigh less and so forth. I guess for me I dont feel any different, I never let my weight stop me from doing anything before, I did it all so for me its not a very different feeling. I guess if you let your weight stop you from doing things then maybe you would feel different.

Lastly I am not a fan of the icile fingers, most of the time I chase my boys around trying to find a warm back or belly. LOL I do find though to help with that is i have a little bite of something fat, be a cookie, a few chips or even a valentine chocolate and about half hour later I am warmed up. Its a neat trick but works for me. The house will be at  25 and I'm still freezing and the rest of the people are hot. LOL

There are a few words of advice and it must be working or I would not be where I am today :)

Congrats Bethy30!
I agree u are a major inspiration. thanks for sharing.

My surgery is next month and I am starting at a similar weight. I was wondering if u would mind posting your weight at say 1, 3, 6, and 9 months post-op?

I am starting to think about goals and I was thinking I would like to lose 100 lbs by my surgiversary, but some of my friends think that's too much and that I should try to lose it more slowly.

PM sent,  one more note your body will lose what it feels healthy and if you follow the plan you cant control how much you lose and when. I woried about my calories in a day but drs reasuread me and look how good it worked. My bloodwork was perfect in Jan and that was my fear but it was all good. There is a reason my body an survie on the low calorie diet, we all are not the eat 2000  a day calorie people. We all are different!! Keep your head up listen to the drs and the weight will do the rest. Enjoy the ride one you get to the end its a whold different ball game. Also be prepared to get jewellery resized, had 2 rings and a bracelet get resized and I think time for the rings again maybe.

Way to go!  You have done wonderfully!
I hear you about sizing rings.  I just had my ring sized down from 8.5 to a 7.  I was so worried I was going to look down one day and find my ring gone.
I have finally hit onederland!  I'm 195 this morning.  For the last 2 weeks I was worried I had hit a stall staying between 202 and 197.  I could not seem to kick it.  But today...finally...195 lbs!  Wearing a size 18 pant (with a belt) and a XL-1X shirt.  I am going to Vegas in a week and I worry about the buffets!  My hubby and sisters are looking forward to them and I am trying to wrap my head around paying over $20 for a cup or so of food.  I have noticed that I can eat more already so I have to begin to watch.  I still stay away from bread, pasta, rice, sweets as well.  Seems all I crave is juicy fresh fruit!
