I agree with what everyone else. ....when I intially was going thinking about surgery I thought I wanted the band 100%. The more research I have done I realize there is no way in the world I would take that route. Way too many complications and many people end up going in to the sleeve done after.
Im not sure where your sister lives but here are the contact numbers for the Edmonton office

They are all very nice and can help your sister. The first step (throught the Edmonton clinic) is to start taking Modules (they are classes about nutrition, exerceise and obesity issues in general). She does not need a referral to sign up for the classes. Once she is registered for at least four she can then get her Dr. to send a referral into the clinic . From there its about a 2 month wait to get her first appointment. Everything from there is based on a very individual basis. (from what I've been told by the staff)
