Hi there & congrats on the start of your life changing journey!  I live in Redcliff & underwent open RNY gastric bypass with Dr. Nohr Nov/07, then panni Nov/08.  I lost & have maintained a loss of 174 lbs since I underwent the panni surgery.  I also travelled to Mexico with my husband as he underwent Lap. RNY with Dr. Joya in May/11.  He has currently lost 130 lbs & is steadily going down.  He has gone from a size 60 jeans to a size 38!!! 
There is a support group for Gastric Bypass people in Medicine Hat.  We meet in Classroom C, Level 3 at the hospital @ 7 pm the last Wednesday of each month!  Great place to get lots of information, questions answered, share success stories & WOW moments!  Lots of good tips & tricks coe out at these meetings too! 
All the best with your surgery & don't forget to phone Dr. Nohr's office at least once a week to check on the cancellation list!
