FitBit??
Have any of yall tried the FitBit or the BodyBugg?
It's an armband that tracks your calories consumed, calories burned, steps taken, ect.
I am going to the Calgary Weight Management program orientation tomorrow night and I know that I have to buy a pedometer. I am sure that this would surpass their expectations for a pedometer, but I am curious if anyone else here has tried one of these bands, to see if they are worth the money.
-Thanks!

I bought the fitbit too. I love it! It's totally addicting. : P And, it Turns out I'm more active than I originally thought; which makes me feel a bit better about myself. I'm going to the program orientation next Thursday. Let us know how it goes! I'd love a preview, would help knowing what I'm getting myself into! :). And good luck on the journey!
It went really well. It was very informative.
I am going to the group 3 meetings that are Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. I had origionally planned to go to the Feb 9th Orientation but I worked things out to go to the one today so that I could sign up for the Thurs evening classes. So far the class that filled up the most is Group 2.
Here ar the highlights of the Calgary Program
In the program you are given access to 3 dieticians, a psychologist and a nurse.
You have to buy a pedometer and keep a food journal
The 2 surgeries they preform are the Lapband and the Gastric Sleeve
You don't choose what you get the surgeon does, based on what they feel is best for you
You can only miss 1 class
There will be 50 surgeries this year, and you will be chosen by a panel of the dietician, surgeon and psychologist based on medical reasons, lifestyle changes, weight loss and other factors.
You will know if you have been chosen for the surgery by the end of May.
Hope that helps.
Maybe I will see you at a Group 3 class!

Oh, sounds like a good session; thanks for the intel! I was referred to the program last summer... so I've been waiting (and finding NOTHING online about it) for months!
I'm not actually interested in the surgery (one less person to compete against ), but my doctor suggested to give the program a try...and maybe I could get some other benefits from it. I was hoping to sign up for the evening classes too, so I'll probably see you around.
Thanks again!
