As stated I'm 4 days post op and im having some trouble meeting my protein intake goals.  Im told by the dietititan that i need 70-85 grams. I am no where even close.  I live in Edmonton alberta, and am looking for some greek yougert, but can only find ones that have 7gm of sugar per serving.  Is that accepable??  Any brands that are better than others.  High protein food sujestions.  Tks

You can use Beneprotein powder to help increase your intake.  It is pretty much flavourless and dissolves in most things like cottage cheese and yogurt (just don't use it in really hot liquids).

You can buy the fat free, very high protein Liberte yogurt at SaveOnFoods and costco.  I don't think the plain as any sugar and it has a ton of protein.

 Hi,

I am three months post op and many days I still do not reach that 70 g protein goal.  I am close though thank god for protein shakes.  I don't know how realistic it is in the first few weeks to be able to get that much protein in.  I know I was eating so little.  A couple of spoonfuls at a time.  Try your best.  Make sure you get your water in too.  I used Benefibre in the early days.  Mixed some in with my 0% Liberte Greek plain yogurt with a dollop of sf jam to taste it up.  I would also mix it into my cream soups.  Are you able to do protein shakes yet?  If yes, get some (whey isolate) and mix with ff milk a couple berries and go from there.  Protein shakes have been my main source of protein.  Good luck and try your best...

i used SF carnation instant breakfast shakes (could only find in chocolate) but I still use them as a meal supplement if I don't feel like eating. 150 calories, 12g of protein, only 13g carbs.

Every little bit helps....good luck !!

I used "Any Whey" protein powder from GNC. It is flavour-less and can be added to just about anything.

I buy the flavored Greek Yogurt because the priority is getting the protein in, not cutting your carbs- really. Flavor wise the plain greek yogurt is brutal.
