Hi! Thanks for getting back to me about your scale.  Maybe I should look into getting a new scale. I will have to think about that because I really don't want to spend the money on another one.  Scales scare me. ha ha     I guess I should just see if the my scale lowers and know that I am at least losing.  I have noticed certain shirts aren't as tight.  They aren't lose yet but they aren't as restricted.  Take care

Mel,

I'm not sure how far you live from your clinic but you could talk to the staff there about weighing in only on their scale weekly. I did the Weight Wise program and they allow their patient to use their scale. You just weigh yourself and chart it down. It makes it easier to tally the number cause every scale weighs differently.
Also whether your scale is digital or dial you should never keep it in the bathroom. The steam from the ho****er will wreck it also moving it around a lot can change the calibration. Wal-mart now has a better weigh****cher scale that weighs up to 400 pounds. If you are close to the top weight that a scale said it can handle, like say the maximum weight is 250 and you weigh in at 248, it can change the calibration and make it inaccurate. Sucks I know but what can we do.
Don't be discouraged, you still done great and you seen that your body is accepting change which is a hugh accomplishment.

Kee.

I know it is a bit on the pricy side, but I have been using a Withing Scale.
I find it very accurate and it stores all my info and allows me to view it on the web or almost any portable device.

It has been great, as it show a graph of weightloss and trending so you can visually see what you have lost over time and it has allowed me to stay motivated because it shows where I can be.

On a different note I have my first clinic appointment on March 1st and I am very excited!

Hi Kee,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I live about 30 minutes outside of Red Deer. The clinic here is in the hospital and the one scale that I was weighed on is located in a secured area where an employee has to let you in with a security card.  I am not sure how open they would be to me weighing myself there....but it's a thought.

Thank you for the encouragement. I needed it.  :)

Hi,
I also have a WW scale that i believe goes up to 400 or maybe even 450. I found that when i first started using it there was about a 6lb difference between mine and the clinic. As my weight dwindles down and now that i am below 300 it is within 1 lb of the clinics. I am assuming like a pp said that the calibration isnt as good at the higher weights??? AND also like a pp said, at least it went down!! congrats to you and your successes!!

Hi.    Yes true, I guess the calibration isn't great at higher weights. That will soon change!  Thank you for the good cheer and encouragment. :)

I see that you had the same surgeon as I did and the same surgery I am thinking of having.   Do you mind if I message you privately to find out about your experience?  I could give you my email address.

Hi seeking_freedom,

OH MY I never thought of that. I never thought to replace the battery. Thanks for the suggestion. I am going to go buy a new one.

Yes down is always better than up.  Keep up the good work.
