Post Ops I need advice! (RnY but others can respond)
I think this is such a wonderful question!
I have a daughter that is about to be 6 and relies on me to make sure that she has her meals and to take her to and from Kindergarten. I am hoping that I will be able to complete the program sometime in April and get scheduled for the surgery sometime over the summer when she is with her dad in Texas for 2 months!
It has to be hard to want to do something for you child and know that you physically can't. Hope that you are able to get things worked out and get the assistance from your family to make it all work out!

Hi,
I had lap RNY done and was released from the hospital after 4 days. I have kids aged 7 and 10 so they were able to do alot themselves, like get dressed, make breakfast etc... My husband did alot around the house like laundry etc... Honestly, I felt pretty good when I got home from the hospital. I admit that I was a little bluey for a few days afterwards, mostly in the evenings. There are things you can do beforehand to make things easier on yourself afterwards. Do your grocery shopping, prepare some meals beforehand for your kids, and yourself, and freeze. Make sure all the laundry is done, so you don't have to do it for a week. I found, as long as I was sitting, I was okay. I am not sure how old your kids are? I didn't sleep much during the day, go figure, but since they were at school during the day, I could have. I know having the RNY surgery done open takes a longer time to recover then lap. Rely on your friends forsure. As for clothes, I didn't wear a bra for a week. Pants were loose yoga pants. I stayed away from any fitted clothes that could possibly rub my 6 small incisions.
