Question regarding the Food Journal
Hi. No I didn't hear that I am not allowed bananas. I guess I will find out more talking to the surgeon Monday but it irritates me because I have had bananas incorporated twice in meals this week. I am trying to eat healthy and then the foods I think are healthy are not allowed. It's crazy.
Is it because of the high sugar content in fruits?
I am finding coffee a challenge as well but it is the evening that I get bothered the most. I never ate big meals but I was a snacker in the evening and snacks not good for me either. I find that I crave sugar after 7 pm.
But I am being good and sticking to it and I haven't cheated on the cup size nor have i eaten junk food.
I even went to a friends house last night where everyone was eating chips and pop and I didn't even get jealous or crave it. I was proud of myself.

I miss my coffee too. I also am guilty of being an evening muncher. I'm trying to think of things to do in the evening including going to bed early to avoid munching.
Good for you for not having any chips or pop at your friends! It's hard to be in those situations and have the strength to not indulge!

Hi! Thanks for getting back to me. I really wish they had an Official list of foods we can't have at the clinic to give us. I feel like I am doing things incorrectly when I am trying to eat healthy.
I have been going to bed earlier because of hunger. I also drink lots of water in the evening and I multitask...keep myself busy so I am not tempted. My mind keeps telling me to eat when bored and I just say no and picture the future. The end result of being healthy, lighter and more active motivates me not to eat. It is hard. My step sons birthday was yesterday and we are having a cake for him this weekend. No cake for me. It's just going to be out of sight out of mind for me.

I had my second appointment today, met Dr. Gregg I lost 4lbs since my last appointment last week but they didn't seem to care yet since I have just started.
I have been having a protein shake a day and I got told today no more protein shakes. Dr. Gregg said they are too high in calories and they don't want me getting my protein from liquid. That makes it really hard to get a min. 60 grams of protein A day in unless I am eating chicken rolled in egg whites, rolled in nuts dipped in peanut butter ;)
I thought I would be good at the food part because I have been reading lots and working hard to eat cleaner, making sure to get my protein in where I can. Now I'm feeling a little bit down and annoyed. I know they want us to figure out what's good and what's not good but I just want a list :(

Congrats on losing 4 pounds. Yeah, they didn't seem to care that I lost 3 pounds. The surgeon gave me my goal to lose after he weighed me ...so I do not think those 3 pounds count. oh well...more to lose. :)

Yeah I want a list too but I guess it is part of the learning process. It frustrates me. I was quite frustrated as well after my second appointment when I met the surgeon. He was negative. Not encouraging at all.
