So when do you know when your ready for a referral to plastics? I think I'm ready now for it, gonna talk to my nurse this afternoon when I go for my 10month check up... ya I'm a month behind..oh well. My weight hasn't moved since August so 3 months, I'm working my butt off doing cardio and weights and nothing on the scale, I feel great though!! So I've been in contact with the Plastics at the clinic where I work and they said anytime now is fine, and considering they are my co-workers, they are quite excited for me and have watched my transformation...LOL They told me to get that referral in now cause its a long wait after the consult to have the surgery anyways. I hope that my nurse will understand and feel the same way! My current weight is between 178-176lbs. Never goes above or below that (even if I do everything right and work out!!)

Are there any tell tail signs that you / body are ready? What about hair loss? do go throught that again after this surgery too? or is not a concern the second time around?

Thanks Chrissy

I got my referral for plastics at my one year appointment.  They sent in the referral to Dr. Toy and I got in to see him within 2 months and had my surgery less than 2 months later.  So, depending on the plastics Doctor you get referred to you may not have as long of a wait as you think.  From calling in to book my post-surgery appointments with Dr. Toy he isn't taking any more patients until December at the earliest, so you may have to be referred to someone else.

To be honest, I was more scared with my plastics surgery than for my VSG.  I'm not sure why, but things all worked out and I'm very happy with my results.  I was the same weight you are now when I had mine and was stable for quite a while prior to that.  Dr. Toy removed 11 lbs of skin and 2.5 lbs of fat through lipo.  It makes a huge difference in how I feel about myself and I have absolutely zero regrets about doing it (other than not doing my thighs at the same time).  He has to do a slight revision in January, but I think this will be minor and I'm not stressed about it.

I am starting to have hair loss again, makes sense being 3 months out, but I'd gladly deal with that instead of all that extra skin on my stomach.  I'm taking my vitamins and getting in my protein most of the time, it's just something that goes with surgery I guess.

Hope that helps!

Jill

I have lost 139 lbs so far, set another goal for 10 more lbs, I am intersted in as well the plastics but almost having bigger issues with my thighs, they are getting really loose, what options are there with that?
