2011 referral to Red Deer Clinic... timelines? updates?

 Hello!

Just wanted to check-in and say hello to any fellow Red Deer patients.  I was referred in May 2011, and had my first consultation with Dr. Gregg on August 31st.  Have had 2 follow-up weigh-ins since then.  I am struggling with the 3 cup diet..... but I have lost 12 lbs so far.

My psych evaluation is scheduled for December 8th, and the gastroscopy will be on December 15th.  

Would love to hear from any other 2011 referrals... How are you doing on the diet?  What surgery are you hoping for?  I'm hoping to get the VSG.

I'm always curious about timelines.... I know there were a few Feb referrals posting on the board a while back. Just wondering if any of you have a surgery date already?   

Christine said her best guess would be a surgery date by March 2012..... of course barring any unforseen cir****tances/delays....

One more question, do any of you attend the support groups?  if yes, what did u think?

Hi Melon,  I was referred in May 2011 as well and had my first appointment on Sept. 26 with Dr. Farries.  I have not got my appointments for the psych or the gastroscopy but was told they would come soon.  My first weigh in I had lost 15 lbs and to date I have lost 20 lbs.  But man it wasn't without suffering.  I am soooooo hungry ALL the time.  I have a headache most of the time as well. Sleeping was real difficult because I was so hungry while trying to sleep.  Where I am sleeping better now, I still feel hungry ALL the time.  I can't imagine being this hungry for several more months.  More than anything I can't wait for the surgery just so I won't be hungry anymore.  It's the hunger that is making it so difficult for me.  I think about food all the time now and even dream about it.  CRAZY!!!

I was thinking about going to a meeting as well.  Im just scared about driving on the hwy in the winter. So we will have to see how the weather is.

@***** I can totally relate to the hunger. And most of all the headaches! Yee**** been a tough month!

I go to the clinic next week so Ill ask Christine as well about surgery.
