Need help - HUGE stall!!!
September 19 was 8 months since my surgery and I am just about at the 100 pounds loss. I know many will say that is great, and I am happy with that, but for about the last month the scale has fluctuated between 1 and 2 pounds either way.
What can I do to get the weight loss going again! I do aquafit 2 nights a week, and lots of walking and really watch what I eat.
The good news is that my hair is finally growing back! :)

Hi Shawna,
I've been where you are... after the 6 month mark, my body basically went into hibernation...
I would loose 5 lbs and then the scale wouldn't move for a month... then whoops.. another 5 lbs..
This is the way I've been going for 7 months now...
One of the best ways to give your system a 'kick start' is to mix up your routine.
Particularly water consumption and excersize routine... change them up... then stay OFF the scale for two weeks... MINIMUM.. don't even think about it... pick it up and shove it into a closet or something... FORGET the scale...
Pay attention to other things, like how your clothing is fitting.... your shoes, rings, necklaces, etc.... I bet they're getting looser... then after two weeks of changing up the routine.... I bet you see a small difference...
At this stage of the game for you... it will be in small doses now... you shouldn't see the huge weight drops that you did in the first six months... Your body is growing accustomed to the new routine... that's a good thing... the weight will still come off (if you work at it) but in smaller amounts at a time...
I'm proof positive.... I've just reached goal weight after about 2.5 years.... the last year or so was the slowest.... but it was still coming off... I've lost a total of 220 lbs now. I can tell you it's really nice because I'm supposed to be maintaining now... and it's proving very easy to maintain... because towards the end of weight loss, I was eating more and feeling much much better about everything...
Good Luck to you... I hope you can find that balance that will work well for you...
Melody

Hey Bonnie
Good to hear from you as well. Good job on your success as well,I can't believe it has been 5 months already for you! I remember how horrible you felt afterwards, now I am sure you feel as the rest of us do, that it was the best decision ever! I am proud of you!!!
My calorie count is usually around 1000 to 1200. My biggest thing is lots of water, and maybe that is my problem lately, it kind of makes me feel ill when I drink it now so I know I am not getting as much as I need. The other thing that helped me is lots and lots of walking. I just recently started aquafit and am absolutely loving it...I strongly recommend it.
I am now a size 10, I can't believe it, the smallest I ever remember being is a 14. I know 100 pds is great, I am just so badly wanting to get to my goal of 120 to 130 as I don't know that I have ever been there. In this last week I have had a coworker tell me that my haircut makes my face look fat, and another tell me that she prefers the cuddlier version of me....jealousy??? maybe...and if one more person tells me that I can't afford to lose anymore! grrr, they just aren't used to seeing a smaller version of me.
The most exciting thing I have done since my weight loss is I had intimate photos done for and with my hubby in August, it was the most remarkable experience. It was great to see me in a picture, and to actually like what I saw, cuz when I look in the mirror I still see big, which I am sure will pass in time.
Hope to hear from you soon!
I took the advice and put my scale in the closet....it is not going to see me until the end of October! Now to keep my fingers crossed and hope to have surpassed the 100 mark then. It is so nice to know that we have this site to turn to when we are struggling or have great news to share!

I'm kind in the same boat as you are. My weight has just been fluctuating up and down a couple of pounds for about 6 weeks now. I've lost 108 to date but still want to lose another 10, maybe 15 pounds.
I've know I was told to mix things up by the NUT, she told me to start on a Monday and down my calories to about 800 and then try to increase them by 100 calories until I reach 1200 and then drop them again, it fools your body as it doesn't know whats coming. So Monday 800, Tuesday 900, Wednesday 1000, Thursday 1100 and Friday 1200, Saturday drop back to 800 and then Sunday 900, of course you will have to adjust your calories to your own intake as some OH forum members are eating 1400 plus calories a day to lose or maintain. I average anywhere from 750- 1100 depending if I snack or not. My NUT also told me to stop snacking for a week or two and then add back 1 a day.
I just started back at the gym so I'm trying hard everyday to mix up my routine so I'm getting the maxi um benefits from both my cardio and weighs. Also was told this trick by a weigh****cher member, apparently changing around your meal times and change up what you eat and when you eat it like maybe eating a heavy breakfast but a lighter supper. It's hard to do that when we can only fit so much down there.
Good luck and I hope your stall breaks.
Kee.
