wow, surgery was may 3...started about 4 weeks ago, PAIN in my tummy by the left rib. went to doctor in bc and she said that it was probably my stomach getting used to things, really hate to bother the clinic. the pain comes and goes without any reason. if i eat, if i don't eat, not eatting too much these days, really not hungry the usually pain usually stops me. has anyone been through this and can give me any helpful hints....please

Have not had the surgery (will in about 6 weeks) but have been an R.N almost 30 years. Pain is your bodies way of saying "Hey!! Something's going on here and I don't like it!" Don't worry about "Bothering" the clinic, that's why they are there!! They want/expect to do follow up. It's part of their job,and it's part of research for those who follow your path of surgery. If the Dr. you are seeing hasn't done at least an ultrasound/xray or swallow or blood tests to investigate and back up their "body getting used to things" diagnosis, I think you should call the clinic asap. If you are not close to Edm. perhaps your Doc and your surgeon could do a phone consult!!!!! Hope this helps!

I fully agree with Wendy, call the clinic, that's what they are there for!!!  Any pain that you are experiencing that is unusual and sudden isn't a good thing.

I find it odd that your doctor in BC just said that it was your stomach "getting used to things" without doing any other follow-up.

Definitely, call the clinic!
