Has anyone started looking into this? Have any experience or preference? Are there payment plans? I looked one up onlilne last night that said it takes approx a year for a consultation, so should we be booking these appointments even though we are not ready yet? I would love to get my arms done! They dont seem to change much in size (ive lost 100lbs before) and i would really love after all this to wear tank tops or spaghetti strap dresses :(

My referral to Dr. Toy, the ps the Weight Wise clinic uses, was sent in to him in April, I believe.  My consultation was June 16th and my surgery is booked for August 18th (eek, less than 2 weeks away now!) . I'm sure I could have gotten in sooner for my actual surgery but I needed time to warn work, aquire funds and prepare myself for another big surgery.

I'm getting a fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty with muscle repair, lipo and monsplasty.  Alberta Health Care is covering the panniculectomy part of the abdominoplasty and they are also covering the cost of the OR, anaesthesiologist, overnight hospital stay, and home care afterward.  I am paying for the additional part of the abdominoplasty, lipo, and monsplasty.

At Dr. Toy's office you can take as long as you like to pay, as long as full payment is made 2 weeks before surgery.  They will send you paperwork to get filled out by your family doctor and the rest of it is the waiting (and researching!) game.

This has just been my experience, other ps may do things differently.

Dora I'm also with the Weight Wise clinic and will be a year out in September. I was told at my last appointment that we would discuss my referal to Dr. Toy at my next appointment which is later this month. My clinic nurse told me that his referral waiting list isn't that bad and that he likes to have his patients a year out from surgery. I was asked to maintain at my last appointment and I actually didn't listen and have lost about another 20 pounds. I've heard alot of great things about him and his speciality is Weight loss reconstruction.

Congrats Jill on your upcoming surgery and good luck. Thats so exciting. I'm not sure what his fee's are like for the extra procedures but I sure can't wait to meet him and discuss my options. Now I just have to wait and see if the clinic will refer me.

Kee.

Best of luck on your surgery today!

When you feel a bit more comfortable, can you let me know what the approximate costs of the portion you're paying is? I need the same type of surgery, and don't have a clue what I'm looking for in costs. Is like to see if what the local ps in Lethbridge is asking is in the sake range.

I know I'm also going to need the brachioplasty and a breast augmentation done as well. I've gone from highest 402 to the current 165ish. I look like a deflated michelin man.
