NEW ! AND NEEDING SUPPORT !

Hi everyone , My name is Erin and I am 2 weeks away form surgery with Dr.Alvarez . I am currently working in manitoba but will be home in edmonton for my recovery . I feel so lost and dont have much support form my family or friends . I am looking for a "guidance consellor " to help me with how to prepare for recovery  , shopping lists for the first month, best products available and where in Edmonton .  Any advice or help is greatly appreciated as I am nervous and doing this surgery alone . ANY advice at all is welcome - I look forward to getting to know you all  .

I had my VSG 7 weeks ago. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have although things are done differently here than in Mexico.

In Edmonton's Weight Wise clinic you may or may not have a pre-op liquid diet (I didn't). Post op is also a lot easier. We don't do 2 weeks of clear liquids, 2 weeks of full fluids and then 2 weeks of
mushies before graduating to 'real' food that they do in Mexico. We are on full fluids before leaving the hospital and continue for 2 weeks before gradually transitioning to real food.

There may be others around who have gone the Mexico route that could provide more helpful info.
