Magic Bullet vs. Regular Blender - OPINIONS WANTED

So I've seen the magic bullet on tv (who hasn't) and read many posts on VSG forum and other forums of people who use this blender.

I'm wondering how (OR IF?) it is better performing than a regular blender.

I have always been disappointed in regular blenders and have a love/hate relationship with my current blender as well.   Things sit at the bottom and don't 'blend' while less dense parts of the smoothie, milkshake or whatever float to the top.

What do you think of your MB vs blender?  What is your knowledge and or experience with one, the other or both?

I'd hate to spend the money on a magic bullet only to find out that it is pretty much exactly the same as my blender...just smaller.

Thanks everyone!

Dreena

Hi Dreena,

My experience with the MB, it purees everything...Mixes well, but it liquidizes.

Hi Dreena,

I have both a blender and the bullet.  I thought my blender worked just fine but pre-surgery I thought I'd be drinking more protein shakes after my surgery so I bought the bullet to take to work.  We got our bullet from Canadian Tire when it was on sale for $29 or something like that so if I didn't like it we weren't out a whole lot of money.

It turns out I hate protein shakes but I'm really glad I bought the bullet.  I make smoothies all the time with greek yogurt and the bullet makes the perfect amount for me and it works just fine to chop up the frozen fruit.  I also like it because it's small enough to shake up if something gets stuck near the top.  The bullet that I bought has 3 containers plus the rings and lids to be able to use them as cups and for travel.

I make sure I rinse out the cup and chopper thingy everytime I use it so clean up is really easy.  Also, it takes up a whole lot less space than the blender which is a huge plus in a kitchen full of small appliances.

My opinion: I like the bullet and I think it's worth it.  I wouldn't spend a whole lot of money on it, but I have no regrets now that I have it.

Hi Dreena,

I have both a blender and a Magic Bullet.  The MB however has sat in my closet since Christmas as I had no where to put it in my kitchen.  Just this past weekend decided to "make" room for it and give it a go.  Let me just say.....BEST THING EVER!!!  It is very powerful, convenient, compact.  It chops ice and frozen fruit with out issue, and my shake this morning took 10 seconds to make!!

I would HIGHLY recommend the Magic Bullet!

You can't spell CHAlleNGE without CHANGE!

I can't vouch for ice, but use it for frozen fruit all the time.

Hubby happened to see it in Costco tonight and got the box set.  It has a big and small blender, the base, the two blades, two large cups and two small cups, two lids, two other purpose lids, rings for colour coding the cups, the small bullet top and large bullet top.

I love it.   I LOOOOVE it.

It made a great smoothie, with the greek yogurt, ice cubes, a bit of milk and some frozen raspberries and a splash of juice.  Great consistency.  It really did the job.  (and a scoop of powder milk to up the protein).

Can't wait to try a coffee flavoured smoothie/mocha.

Oh and it has a recipe book in with it!  I'm definitely going to try the fat free hummus recipe!
