Six month labs done. I was called in for low B12 and I am slightly anemic, but not enough to worry about.  1200mcg of b12 supplement and recheck at 9 months. Sound normal?? A doctor was only filling in for mine and asked if I was vegetarian! I quickly gave her the low down on the situation and this  was her advice.

Thanks

YEP, sounds about right.   I'm at 5.5 months.  I have to take 1200 as well.  I don't have the anemia yet, i think they caught it on time.  Good thing it's very treatable.  I got the Jamieson brand B12 that melts on your tongue like a listerine breath strip.  Easy peasy.

I read that it's because our regular stomach could produce all of the acids and stuff that binds to B12 to make it available to our bodies.  With a completely modified tummy now...our bodies cant do the same work.

I was feeling like hell, but only a week into my B12 and I already feel less tired and a little more focused.

My protein was starting to go down as well.  So i'm trying to bump that up too.

:)   You get alot of B12 from protein or you need the protein for the B12 I can't remember which...so logically you were asked that.

I was almost accused of eating too many carbs.  I was like...people...all i eat is meat, cheese, milk, yogurt....I'm so sick of it  I WISH i could eat a load of carbs!  Not the case!

So bump your protein too if you haven't been meeting that goal get it up there!!

You'll feel awesome in no time!

Melting on the tounge? that sounds easy, i never seen those ones. I read up on b12 definciency and it is found in animal products which is why she asked i guess. And to be honest I have been letting protein slide for the last couple months, only getting in 50 or so grams on several days, instead eating things I want or crave! BAD GIRL!! There are effects to our decisions... I was feeling very dozy and forgetful at times, as well as very easily bruised, when I never used to which I guess can be a sign as well.

I guess if it isn't better at the 9months they will put me on shots! yuck! I hope these work!! :)

I know!  I was falling asleep sitting up on the couch! Crazy

The Jamieson (melt on your mouth strips) are a one month supply.  You can put one in your purse and one in your cupboard so you never forget!  They are mint flavoured.  Thank goodness no more pills...

Yes, i'm using the nutritional tracker on this site to strictly monitor my protein.  I'm getting mor than I used to, getting close to goal most days...and have met goal twice now!  (big deal for me!)

Let me know how you feel in a couple of weeks!
