I just moved to Alberta in April from Manitoba.  I had surgery almost scheduled in Manitoba and when I told them I had to move because of my husbands work they refused me.  I just found a gp here and I have to go through all of this once again.  Is there anyway to find a doc in Edmonton with out having to have a referral.  THX

Are you asking how to find a family doctor in Edmonton so you can get a referral to a bariatric surgeon or the Weightwise clinic in Edmonton?

You do need to have a GP refer you to one of the specialists.

I think there is a list on the Alberta college of Physicians and surgeons website of doctors who are taking patients.

THX  I have a GP all I needed to know is if I had to go thru the GP first to get to the specialist.
