Been a while.....

It's been a while since I've been here. Probably been too long. I'm not happy with the way anything is going right now. I'm mad at myself cause I can't seem to eat properly. I have no more motivation to get myself to the gym anymore either. I feel like I've not only let myself down, but that I've let everyone else down.

I've lost a total of 104 lbs from my day of surgery, and have since gained (yes, GAINED) 9 lbs back.

I will admit that I'm not the greatest with getting in all of my water. I'm never thirsty, so I never think of drinking all that much. Eating is touch and go... I'm never hungry. *le sigh*

I have no motivation to get to the gym cause it's always the same thing every time I go...... hop on the bike and ride for an hour, maybe once in a blue moon I'll go to a group exercise class.

I know that another problem I face is that I haven't the foggiest clue what to eat. I envy all of you that have gone through the WW clinic. You all seem to know what you're to eat and stuff. I have NO CLUE! HELP!!!!

Stat wise, I've gone from size 5X to a TIGHT 14 in bottoms, and from size 5X in shirts to an XL or L depending on who makes it... I actually have a tshirt from the Cows store in Banff that's a M and I can wear it no problems.

*le sigh*

We've all gone through a variety of what your going through and feeling, just try and remember what you have accomplished so far is fantastic, try and watch your calories and sugar intake on food.  The dietician in Medicine Hat at the hospital is fabulous, just give her a call or e-mail her, she is extremely supportive and helpful.  I myself have talked with her more than once since my surgery in Nov/10. Keep up the good work, try and stay positive, your doing great even if you don't think so right now.  :)

First of all Welcome Back and congrats on your weight loss to date, that's amazing.
I too fell into a rut and lacked motivation and coming to the site gave me back the motivation I needed.
I love the WW clinic and the constant monitoring system they use but the Dietitian doesn't tell you what to eat as much as a guild line of nutritional eating. I can eat what ever I want but she guides me to have 70 grams of protein or more, 2-3 oz per serving with a 1/4-1/2 cup of carbs like potato and for snacks fruit and veggies. I still sometimes chose to have an ice cream or chips or rice cakes for a snack when I should be eating a fruit but like I said she can only guide me.
As for exercise, maybe find sometime you like better. Try a workout video or walking outside. Change up your routine. Hopefully summer will get to us soon and the rain will go away so it'll be easier to plan outdoor activities.
Why don't you post some of the things you are eating as in a days menu and maybe some of us can help you with it or maybe add to it. It's hard to help when we don't know what you like but for me I eat a lot of eggs, tuna, cod fish, hamburger meat like meatloaf, turkey bites for snacks, cheese. For add on sometime 1/4 cups of pasta, potatoes, quinoa. Fruits like banana, strawberries, blueberries, Almonds. I do have days when its soup for lunch or maybe a few bites of a Kraft dinner bowl but I try to stick to healthier eating but sometimes we just need our fix. How much can you eat in one serving?
Good Luck Chickie, you have come so far I know you can go the extra mile.

Kee.

Hi CHickie!!
I am kind of at the same point right now, starting to eat chips, some chocolate, things I just don't need. and guess what? Only 6 lbs this month!! I am finding it easier to exercise though, I ride my bike a couple times a week, although not far enough and I have a Jillian Micheals 30 day shred video that I love! Mostly because I can do it!! oh and my treadmill on occasion with some yoga moves that i got from prevention magazine. I went to aquasize several times through the winter with my sisters as well.
I to wish we had a support group to be accountable to, for the pep talks and knowing that your not just flailing around on your own. True they can only guide what your eating, but i think it keeps your mind a little more on the straight and narrow of eating for nutrition and requirements, not pleasure! (or boredom)
We are all in it together, and I have seen many posts where they say go back to the basics, get the water, vitamins, protein in like you did in the first few months and it should kick start the weight loss again!! Here's hoping

Oh my! Dori, you sound just like me.... chips, chocolate..... UGH!!!!! I crave the stinkin chips everytime hubby and I go to the grocery store, and I'm always always alway stealing Bridge Mixture out of his bowl. lol

I haven't lost a pound since the end of December. UGH!!!! I just want to cry.

I have been soooooo tempted to go back to the basics and pretend that I've just been released from the hospital and at home, but it's sooooo hard, because I know that I can eat almost anything that's in the house. I have protein shake stuff here and sometimes I'll mix it in with a little thing of yogurt. I actually was going to do the 2 weeks of nothing but liquidy stuff starting last Monday, and I did good for 1-1/2 days. Why can't I stick to it?????? Maybe I'll have to just put my mind to it and start again this upcoming Monday.

I'm also going to try for the millionth time to start a food journal. It's hard to do though.

I don't like swimming cause I hate the feeling of all the saggy skin as it floats up in my swimsuit and I get sooooo cold so fast now. I pray that it's going to be different when hubby and I go to the hot springs in Radium or Banff. *crosses fingers*

I LOVE yoga. I was actually doing it on my Wii this past winter when my car was in the shop getting fixed and I couldn't make it to the gym for 2-1/2 months. (Had to special order a part in from Belgium where the car's from and they had to recast the part!!!! o_O) I've gone on a HUGE bike ride too. I rode my bike from the one side of the westside of Lethbridge to the other. It was a 12 km ride round trip and it only took me an hour. I totally enjoyed it and was soooooo not out of breath. It was nice. I'd love to do it again, but the weather's been the pits. lol I walk a lot in the day too. I'm thinking of upping my walks around the neighborhood to 3 loops instead of 2 cause the 2 loops aren't challenging me anymore.

Ok... enough from me. I'm just going to have to go back to square 1 and stick to it.

Hope you're having a great day!

*hugs*
