The International Sleeve Experiment!
I just got back from a big trip to FOUR overseas countries!! Half work, half vacation - my first sleeve adventure abroad.
Travelling after the sleeve was interesting! Definitely challenging at times to figure out what to eat and how to find protein-rich foods. The waiters were offended I never finished my order, ha ha.
I would order appetizers or children's portions mainly. The not eating and drinking thing was harder as they just can't believe you would not be having wine with everything.
They confiscated my vitamins at the airport early on so I had a hard time finding replacements. Bring your vits in a bottle or they will dump them out.
It was so fun to be active - hiking, biking, etc. and moving more than I normally ever would have.
The seats on the airplane fit and I could turn side to side a bit, and LOTS of slack on that seatbelt!!! SO AWESOME! BIG SMILES!! But I assure you a 9 hour flight still sucks when your tush is smaller.
I was able to shop in amazing stores and try things on other than just shoes! My poor credit card.
I felt like people did not even know I had been overweight before - I am just a "slightly lumpier average person" now. It was great to meet people while travelling and not have any judgement in this area.
I maintained my weight loss and am back in my routine, ready to blast off some more.
According to the Weight Wise Clinic, I have met their goal ahead of schedule so they upped my calories and want me to maintain (in order to prevent regain later). But I am well off from my goal! so I will just do it very slowly and as healthily as I can.
So long since I have dropped into the forum, missed a lot I can see!
Good luck to everyone having surgery soon and those that just did are meeting exciting goals etc.
