Tummy Tuck

Hi there,

I know I'm late on this but was just re-reading some of the posts.  I had a consultation with Dr. Toy in Edmonton yesterday.  Had VSG in Oct/09 & have lost 150lbs so I have ALOT of skin above my belly button to be removed.  He said I would need an incision down the middle to take out  that skin as well as one from hip to hip for the pannectomy so what he said i needed was abdominoplasty. (not everyone needs the vertical incision)  He said it would cost (ballpark) about $6500 to have it done cause AHC will pay some of it (facility fees etc..) because I would qualify for the pannectomoy but I would have to pay the diff to upgrade.  He also said he would do a pubic lift at the same time.  I asked about how much it would cost to get my arms done later if I decided to & he reccomended that if I was thinking of any other procedures that I get them done at the same time because AHC is already picking up some of the tab on this one but they would not if I decided to do it later because they don't cover brachioplasty.  He said to get both the tummy tuck & my arms done it would be approx $10,000 now or to go back later & get just my arms done would be approx $9500 alone.   Man, have I got some thinking to do!!

Anyway, hope this helps, I like to find out as much info as I can so figured & may as well share what I found out yesterday!
Take care,
Marie

Hey Everyone,

So is Dr. Toy a pretty popular plastic surgeon for bariatric patients in Alberta? I'm wanting to have some work done as well and am new to Alberta.
