Good for you for not letting the no to surgery stop you..I know you will still do amazing. With or without the surgery. You have come so far already...

Thanks Adrianna,
I'm going to keep on the plan the dietitian worked out for me and gradually add more exercise to give my metabolism a boost. Hopefully I'll be able to keep on at the 1# a week for a bit longer that way. I figure it's worth a shot.

Kelly-Anne,

Sorry you aren't able to go ahead with surgery as you wished.  You've already been so successful and the changes you've made are an inspiration.

Best of luck.  Looking forward to hearing about more successes.

Thanks Rocky,
Nothing ever happens without a reason, and the reason for this may have come up today. I'm committee for my Mum (she has dementia) and it looks like it's a good thing I can do my diet on autopilot as she needs more of my attention for the next while. (yay autopilot, right?)

I'll still be checking in here and working on building the amount of exercise I get each day in hopes of revving my engine a bit.

You can either believe it will happen.....or believe it won't.  Both are self fulfilled prophesies. For Me it has happened.  My Surgery was September 21/2010

Thanks Kee,
I'm working on building my exercise routine a bit in hopes that I can keep the 1# a week bit going for awhile longer. Every pound helps, right? I'm hoping for another 20# or so.
I see you're about to make your next goal. Good for you! I'll be watching for the fireworks!

I'm sorry to hear that. I can almost hear the disappointment in your post. Have you considered self pay if surgery is still something you are interested in?

I've thought of it, but it scares me a bit. I'm going to try boosting my activity a bit and see if I can get some more off just following the diet the dietitian put me on. It's taken 24# off in the past 2.5 months - I'm hoping some more will go in the next few months.

I spent some time on my recumbent exercise bike today - I figure that at the very least it'll help build muscle for riding the regular bike I bought last week. (I wobble a lot on it, but is it ever fun!)

You have a really great attitude about this and the weight loss is impressive.

If you want any info on self pay, send me a PM and I'll tell you about my experience.  I chose it because I was technically too light for WW at a BMI of 36, I would have been put on a diet and then booted off as soon as I got under 35 so I made this decision for myself that I'm so happy I did!

Hi Kelly-Anne,
I'm positive you will continue to be successful doing this without the surgery although I don't fully understand all of the reasons behind their decision.    That's cool that  you got a new bike.  I don't think I have been on a bike in over 25 years.  I don't know if I would remember how to ride one but it sounds like fun!
