Looking for help

I went to my family doctor in edmonton and asked about a referral for weight loss surgery. he informed me he new of it but had never wrote a referral before so asked me to find the name and phone number of a surgeon  and he will write me a referral... should i just go to another doctor for help or is their a somewhere i can find this information to bring to him ? im stuck in a slump..any advise would be greatly apperciated !!

The Weight Wise Clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital specializes in weight loss and bariatric surgery.

There is a link on this page to download a referral form to give to your doctor. He/she fills it out and faxes it to the Weight Wise Clinic...then you wait for a call from them.

There is also a Dr Farris that does bariatric surgery in Red Deer...but the only way you can get a referral in to him is to call his office on MAY 1 only....it's weird I know..

I don't have his number...google it :)

Dr Farries in red deer used to take referrals the first monday in may.... however this has changed and i am not sure which day he does it now. I believe its in february.....BUT he also has had 2 more surgeons join him. So Red Deer has 3 surgeons now all running out of  the same office. 403-347-9037 is the number, phone and ask the receptionist which day he is taking referrals!! Good luck to you!!
If it makes you feel any better my GP didnt know either, i had to tell him what to do!!
