What happened?

I have always loved cottage cheese even b4 surgery now i'm having to choke it down! I love yougurt..now I only like yogurt.. too much of a good thing?  Anyone else find this? If this keeps up I'm not sure how I will get all my protein in!

Greek yogurt had  double the amount of protein. Great with fruit and you can add splenda too.  It is thick like sour cream and tart. I love it on baked potato and mixed with fresh strawberries or frozen fruit( thawed )

It's very good for you.

Yes I have finally been able to get the greek yogurt and I love it with one sugar twin and some frozen fruit pieces!  I never thought of using it for other things..like baked potato.. I can try that!

I'm still in the jumping through hoops stage, but looking ahead I see WAY too many sweet protein supplements (how much chocolate can I stand when it's my turn?) and not nearly enough savoury, so I've been brainstorming a bit myself.

How are you eating them? If plain, have you tried mixing salsa into the cottage cheese, or (my personal favourite) lots of green onions and some salt and pepper? A Knorr vegetable soup packet added to pureed cottage cheese makes a yummy high protein spread or veggie dip. I've been experimenting with other herb blends - they're surprisingly tasty mixed into cottage cheese or plain Greek yoghurt.

I'm not looking forward to the liquid diet before and after surgery, but not because I'm worried about being hungry. It's the thought of living on only sweet for weeks on end that I expect to have grit my teeth and get through.

Kelly-Anne you are awesome! I eat everything plain! I have no imagination, a little pepper in my cottage cheese that's it! lol I LOVE salsa that would be great! or the soup mixes! You must love to cook! Yes the sweet stuff is a little much for me :( even the diabetic Boost makes me feel yucky sometimes... I'm like you, savoury rather than sweet!
So you keep posting away girl with all your ideas! Even after surgery! let us know what you come up with!!

I'm afraid that it's more that I like to eat and am extremely interested in making whatever I'm allowed to eat tasty.

How do you feel about curry? I don't like spicy food, but a bit of curry powder and a few raisins does something wonderful to a small serving of cottage cheese. I'm still presurgery, so add things like grated carrot, finely chopped celery and fresh mango.

Can you eat cooked apple? If you cut up an apple and nuke it, then add cinnamon, sweetener of choice, stir, then add your cottage cheese and stir it again, you'll be hard pressed to feel like you're "dieting."

If you can only eat your apples as sauce, adding some cinnamon will make it a terrific add-in to your sweetened Greek yoghurt or cottage cheese.
