Six Months

Hello, this is the week of my six month surgiversary!

I have lost 81 pounds total and 58 pounds since surgery. My clothing size has gone from a 3x top to a large at Ricki's/ XL at Reitmans, and pants from a 22 pant to a size 14. I look the better than I have in 10 years.

It's kind of emotional to think of how hard life was 6 months ago. I feel like people are friendlier and I feel happier because I am noticed and appreciated. I am dating again and travelling, and have lots of energy to walk around and the seats on the airplanes and trains fit perfect. Adventures!!!

Physically I am toning up a bit with some exercise but I have had sore hips lately - I think from sleeping on my side - I have a lot less "junk in my trunk" and so feeling bones is weird. My body is adjusting but each week it seems to change a little bit and it takes time for me to get used to things.

I am really happy with my decision to have the surgery so I wish all of you luck on your journey.

Congrats on the weight loss. You are doing great with it.

I totally understand the sore hips and my tail bone kills me. I've been to the chiropractor a few times and he said with the rapid weight loss our center of gravity changes and sometimes our bodies need to be adjusted. I felt wonderful after I left there. But I don't want to get dependent on him working his magic.

I have also notice that taking a bath isn't as comfortable as it use to be when I was larger. My butt goes numb much faster now too. Isn't it amazing how our bodies are changing. My mind has finally caught up to what others see even though I still have my fat days and wonder what the heck is wrong with me.

I'm so glad that we all have each other to share our journeys with. I think we all inspire each other.

Kee.

I'm glad you all inspire each other but remember how much of an inspiration you are for those of us that are waiting.  I think the waiting once approved for surgery is probably the hardest for me yet.  I knew the waitlist to get in was long...I knew it was a process when I got there...I know the wait for surgery is going to take a bit...but my goodness this one is making me nuts.  I feel a little like the rabbit with a carrot in front of my nose and I just can't reach it...lol  You have so much to be proud of and the results are amazing!  Way to go and keep on keepin on so that people like me can read and find the positive in waiting one day at a time.

Wow thanks so much for the nice comments.
Kee, I was laughing, yes my tush goes numb in work meetings too and I am always like, how have these skinny people dealt with these terrible chairs for so long?? Hard as a rock!
My head has not really caught up. More people look at me and I still think, what have I got stuck to the front of my shirt now...
It is really weird but if you are just starting out, I would enjoy the feeling of a large presence. I actually miss that in some way. And don't worry, I had to wait a really long time for surgery too but it gave me the ability to prepare and be ready for it.
