why?
This is a hard decision. Do some research...that's what I did. I even watched all 3 procedures on youtube. I originally wanted RNY then I got scared and said it was too much so I picked the lap band...the sleeve never even entered my mind. Then I stumbled on this website, asked around and decided on the sleeve. I had already told my dietician that I was doing the lap band, so I had to tell him that I had changed my mind. even though they went through the formalitites of explaining the choices to me again I stuck with the sleeve and they said that it was a great decision for me. I know its the right one. And like the others I get jealous when I hear that my RNY buddies are losing faster...I even have a friend who was at the same weight at me the day I went in for my post op weigh in and she is now 20lbs lighter than I am (she had RNY) and I get jealous of her...but when I spoke to Lee about my frustration he reasurred me that I have made the right choice for me and that they are seeing prolonged success with the sleeve and very little complications. He also said that so far the sleevers are not regaining their weight, where some RNY ers have. But there is only about 5-6 years of research on the sleeve at WW so that information is misleading. My x-nurse (Cory) said that my 1-2 lbs was healthier and that I will have less skin issues by losing slowly. I think he was right as I have only just begun to see excess skin in the las week or 2 and it is only on my thighs. And they all say that alow losers tend to keep it off longer.
I just suggest you do your homework and go with what your gut tells you is right for you! Good luck!
