Shelley,
Do you know exactly what it is you're worried about? Being able to eat without pain? Getting in your protein without having to eat something you find nasty? Feeding your family while being limited yourself? Whether you'll feel well enough to cook for yourself? Whether your family will support and feed you?

If you can figure out what is/are your worries more exactly, maybe we could do some brainstorming together.

Hugs,
Kelly-Anne

I just read this and had an idea. Will you be on clear fluids? If so, do you like such things as Crystal Light? What if you made up crystal light and added unflavoured protein powder to it? I keep reading that protein and water are the main things you focus on at first, but I don't know of any rule that says you have to eat or drink anything you think is truly vile.

Shelley, you and I sound a lot alike. I only had 5 days notice before surgery so I was so busy I couldn't worry but after I got back home I just stress over these little things. Your taste changes so much after surgery you will have to try things to know if it will work for you.
I was able to tollerate most juices but had to add water to them, I either found them to sweet or to thick and it's funny cause after 6 month I still add water.
I wasn't able to use the protein powders, they gave me gut wrenching tummy pains and the protein drinks would go down and come back up. I did find a protein bar at Shoppers, it was just their life brand one. Payed like $1.49 for it and it worked awesome which pissed me off cause previously I was paying $3-5 for ones I couldn't tolerate and had to throw away. Of course this was later out in my journey.
I'm a creature of habit and I still pretty much eat the foods I know will work but every now and again I'll move out of my comfort zone and add a new food. If it works I'll keep it and if it doesn't work I wait awhile and try it again. It's all individual trial and error.
