just about 1 week post op
So tomorrow March 7/11 will be one week. As of today (sundy) I am down 10lbs since surgery. Trying my best to get all my fluids in, been having water, apple juice, jello sugar free and sugar free pudding, have had on protein drink with water and one protein drink with skim milk and lots of Ensure, some times it feels like i'm dumping on it and other times I'm good for the day. Its wierd and alot to figure out. Current weight 266, been a long time since I seen that number. It feels great
I had the sleeve and I so wish I could have some substance in terms of food. Still another week on the liquid diet, with jello. I get hungry when the family eats but in due time I'm told.
Christine tole me that Ensure is better than Boost, she has had lots that dump on boost. I find the ensure not to bad, I am on some medicine that can cause diarea so that could be what it is and not dumping on ensure. It seems every other day for that so it probably is the medicine. I take a bit of my pain medicine before bed other than that its been good. I get the go ahead to exercise after 6 weeks. She said first you loose water, than you lose fat and then muscle so exercise at 6 weeks. I can wait for that, so far no complications and I actually dont feel to bad.

Hi Bethy30 and congrats to you. I wonder if you could share some information that may help me. I would like some information concerning how to go about getting the sleeve.
I did have the lap band done in Ontario, but had it removed about a year ago. It was not a good time for me. I am thinking about considering having the sleeve done. I live in Alberta now, and I am completing some Weight Management programs, but now sure how to find a doctor, who can give me advise.
If you can point me in some type of direction, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Susan

Hi Susan, I can try to give you some info. I did read in your post about you had the lap band done but it wasnt good timing, the thing about the sleeve is it is permant. There is no good time or bad time, once its done its done for life. The best thing is make sure you are 100% commited to this change forever.
When I signed on with my Dr, he took referals from your family Dr first monday in May, from my understanding he took this years patients in Feb so a little earlier. Then from there you wait for his call and when you get first appt you do what he says and for how long he says. If you are commited you will move up the ladder with him. My first consult was Oct 28/10 and surgery was Feb 28/11. I did what he said and it worked for me.
hope this sort of helps
