Yahoo.... I was originally give September of 2012 for my surgery date and it has been moved up to March 28th!!  I am so excited and scared all at the same time.  I am already planning to have 1 last of pretty much all of my favorite foods (even though you are not supposed to do that ).    Dr. Nohr is my doctor and I have heard lots of good things about him so I hope it all turns out well.

I just wanted to shout this out cause I am about to burst inside!!!

Yep, this March 28th.  I had to clairfy that twice just to make sure. I was like so you are saying I am having the surgery in 28 days, lol.  I have so much to do.  Arrange time off at work, child care, pre pay bills....

So excited .

That is so very exciting and yes Dr Nohr is fabulous, he did my surgery in Nov and I have had no issues at all. Don't worry all will go well and congrats again I also ate all my favorite foods before surgery, but I stopped 2 wks before and all went well.

Congratulations on your new date!  How exciting!  I can only hope I get a similar call as my date as it stands is December 2012.  Are you having open or lap surgery?

I am having the open, the wait was much longer it I went with the lap. Cabbage rolls last night, 27 days to go!

I am a bit worried about the recovery time.  Also I am a smoker and I am thinking I will be really cranky in the hospital without them.  Dr. Nohr told me that since I am from out of town that he will keep me in the hospital from Monday to Saturday so I am not looking foward to all that time but short term pain/long term gain is what keeps me going.

Could you use the time to quit - or at least cut down on your smoking? You'd likely heal faster.

That is what I hear.  I have a 3 day weekend starting Friday so I will strongly attempt to quit.  I need a few days away from work as I am a real Biznatch when I dont have a cigarette!

Is there any chance you could talk to your GP soon? A friend's husband just quit and his Dr prescribed something that made the cigarettes taste vile.

I was told they would absolutley not do you in Edmonton if you smoked...that is the biggest reason I quit. I was also told they tested for it before surgery.  It sure helped me in quitting
