Hi everyone,
Just checking in. This has been a tough month for me!

Stalls!
The weight loss has slowed down with a major 3 wk stall. Really watching calories didn't help, only increasing calories worked. But it was a fine balance to figure out how much. I think really my body was just like, give me a break please! During this time I went down a clothing size. Total weight loss since surgery is 50 pounds, I am down 73 pounds in total.

Hair loss!
I was so excited that it seemed this would not affect me. WRONG!  Three weeks ago it started to fall out like CRAZY. I mean, handfuls in the shower every day. It seems to be slowing and also new hairs growing in. I am lucky that I have a lot of hair and a great cut so its not visible, just freaky to see so much fall out.

The Cold!
The weather has been a bit tough - the cold has been giving me grief with arthritis, which had improve greatly with the weight loss. This and the stall have been tough on me mentally, to feel excited about my progress. I have to work more to keep my head in the game, so to speak, stay focused on what I have accomplished & what's left to do.

Medically Healthy!
I am now at the weight I was went I was 21 years old. WOW> and medically, my cholesterol and blood pressure are all "normal" (down from High), no meds, blood work all normal. Yeah!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey Mtrai:

I can't remember, how far out are you? I've had two major stalls. One for half of October and the first half of November and then ALL of January. I'm going to go to the clinic and weigh myself tomorrow and then my goal is to not step foot into that clini****il April 1 which is my next appointment date. I'm finding that I'm relying too much on the scale.

I am the same with you about the clothing sizes. I am trying to prolong it as much as I can but I'm pretty much out of penningtons and addition-elle. I have 2 more sizes to go down for pants before I can't buy anymore there and then I honestly have no clue where to shop. I don't know if I can handle that in all honesty.

That's great about your current weight! Honestly, you are doing amazing! Keep it up!

Hi Adrianna! I am about 4.5 months out.

Yes, the clothing thing... I have seriously given away about 12 bags of clothes so far. Someone will like them I hope... I had some really nice stuff!

Right now I am living life with 2 pairs of pants hahaha. I am a 14 comfort fit pant at Reitmans - those clothes are cut for me. I am still able to do the "X" size top at Addition Elle but I have basically sworn that I am DONE with that place.

Yes, last week I went to THE MALL to buy a dress for an event. I went into Ricky's, walked around, and went right back out to my friend and said, nope, those are way too small for me!!!
She shoo'd me right back in and locked me in a change room and just fired things over the top. I was a regular Large and XL in their clothes - which go up to XXL... they totally fit. And I almost cried. Couldn't believe it. I haven't shopped in regular stores for a decade.

I also bought a new winter coat - very fitted and cute! And a dreaded SWIMSUIT. That was horrible but I found a great little size 14 tankini from the Bay on sale. It seriously looks so tiny to me. How can that little piece of fabric really fit around my tush? ha ha ha

I came home and tried everything on twice... it is so weird... a complete head trip. My brain is just not there yet. Good luck with your next shopping trip lady!

I just wanted to say - thank you so much you are such an inspiration!!  To hear the two of you talking about shopping is so exciting - I can't wait to have my surgery and actually be able to shop in a "regular" store!!  I know that is a long ways off but thank you so much!!

Ok I am not being rude, but yay!  I thought I was ruining myself or something because I stall all the time.  some times for 2 weeks, sometimes for a month.  Sometimes I think its my food and sometimes I think its my pattern.  I also went through major hairloss around 3 motnhs out, and now it has slowed down to normal presurgery loss...but I am having lots of sticky upies!  lol!  When I stall i just work out harder and it helps.

I have been lucky with clothes...Most of mine were drawstring so I can still wear them cuz Im cheap.  Also people have given me alot of hand me downs.  But I can shop in Walmart, although I dicovered that their size 16 doesnt fit whereas other stores 16s do!

I am at the weight I was when I was 19.  It feels great!
