I'm not sure how much help I can be, I never had to go the pre-surgery liquid diet... but I know about afterwards.

I always had a hard time with Optifast and Ensure/Boost after surgery. It wasn't a problem with my stomach... it was the taste and texture of the drinks... ewww.. yuck yuck...

My solution was to take the Ensure and Mix it half and half with water... it thins out the texture so it's not so thick... and it was much easier to drink...

Hi, I have done the optifast for 3 months, but no surgery. I really didn't mind the optifast.
I would mix it with a pop (such as vanilla optifast, with a diet root beer, or a chocolate optifast with diet orange crush) put lots of ice and use a blender. Not sure if you can use pop, but it sure was good. Also using food extracts, such as coconut, rum, etc., also was good.
Good luck to you.
