Thanks, Dreena. :o)
My intake visit with my nurse went really well. Other than sky-high blood pressure, she seemed pleased with how I've been doing on my own. (lost 24#, added aquasize 3 times a week to my life, made a LOT of changes in the way I eat) She was really encouraging and booked a bunch of appointments for me. I went and saw my GP in the afternoon and he prescribed some BP meds that seem to be helping.
Then I had my first visit with the dietitian. Oh dear...
I didn't know that "You're close to what is possible with lifestyle changes" meant they were going to put me on a DIET. I sulked for a day (but did what I was told anyway) then decided I'd best put on my big girl panties and get with the program. The dietitian says the 1400 calories a day that she's allowing me should take about a pound off me each week. I hope she's right!
I've decided that since it seems to take people about a year to get from intake to surgery anyway, I may as well see if I can take off 52# during that time. Added to the 24 I've already lost it'd be a huge improvement, yes?

You can do it! I used sparkpeople.com to track my food/calories. It's free and great. Just type in the food, pick the item and it puts it in your daily tracker with all of the right info. If you have the labels then you can create the info. Then you'll have a visual cue of your calories and you can print it out for your dietician :)
Keep doing what you're doing you're moving in the right direction!
Hugs,
Dreena

I'm back to using LoseIt! on my iPhone and it really isn't that bad. I just email a summery to myself at the end of each day and copy that into a Word file that I'll print off each visit to the clinic.
Another thing - I'm wearing my pedometer faithfully - do I need to record daily readings and take a log of that with me each visit as well?
Yet another thing - I've started looking up stuff for restaurants and finding things I can eat while out. Since my lunch and supper both need to be 400 calories or less, the choice is limited, of course, but I've found a few things. Did you have much success that way? Where did you find meals you could eat while out?
