It has been 2 weeks today since my rny and I got my g tube and staples out...wonderful feeling to finally be rid of that annoying tube, it created alot of discomfort.

I am now down 26 pounds which I am so excited for, so happy to be on the losers bench now, I never ever thought I would make it this far.

I a ready to start my solid foods now but am really scared of experiencing dumping syndrome.  Any suggestions on what foods to try first would be so helpful, or if anyone has any recipes they would like to share.  I got all my info from the dietician but opionions are appreciated.

Two weeks post op and I still tire very easily. My husband and daughter have taken me on a few short outings, it is great to see the looks on peoples faces when they see me, especially those that didn't know I was having the surgery!  We even went to warehouse one and I got 5 tops for 8.00 a piece, I love that store! (now)

anything soft... Cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, chicken cut up really small. I do a ground beef with mushroom soup sauce over mashed potatoes. Since it is all pretty soft, it goes down pretty well.

Anything really high in sugar - ice cream and slurpees I could handle for the first few months after surgery but then my stomach dicided it couldn't handle that anymore.

Hello,

I'm 3 weeks out todayfrom my RNY and just starting on solids to. So far chili and broth veggie soups, this morning I made a tuna salad in the small food processor I have( tuna, onion, pickles, mayo. red pepper, salt and pepper) and had 3 soup crackers with that on top and it was good. My Nurse told me to try the campbells chunky stew like things, also refried beens was easy to eat. really anything soft but try to stay away from pasta and breads and rices as well as junk foods. I got some cottage cheese today and a frozed shepperds pie to try, chicken pot pie would be good too just don't eat the crust. the main thing is to remember portion size and eat very slowly, you'll know when your full. for a treat I'm loving sugar free popsicles.  I can imagine that a meat sauce that would go on pasta would be good too. Don't be scared, I was but not really anymore, trial and error is the only way. message me if you want to share Ideas.

wishing you luck
Hugs
