New to Calgary Area
Hello All,
I moved here from Ottawa a few months ago, so I lost my little support group!!! I had surgery July 2008 (RNY) and still maintaining.
Just before I moved I had been referred to a plastic surgeon in Toronto who was doing some repairs and renovations and able to charge it to OHIP (provincial medical card).
Anyone know anything about Plastic Surgery in Alberta? What's the deal.
I would also be interested if there are meetings in the Airdrie or NW Calgary area!!!
Ciao!
Audrey

Hi Audrey:
unfortunately, most of us (not all) are through the weight wise clinic in Edmonton. So we have a support group that has been created by a few people 5 years ago. I have heard of a Calgary/Red Deer support group but unfortunately, I don't know much about it.
You can also join the Edmonton Bariatics Support Group that is on Facebook. All are welcome. We have people that aren't even in the weight wise clinic looking for more information, people in the clinic but don't want surgery, some who are waiting or approval, have had surgery, or just waiting for their call with a date of surgery.
I hope you can find a support group!

If you add me to your facebook I can link you with the Calgary/ Red Deer website.. They have an amazing group of people. . As for plastic surgery I will tell you it does take time .. and depending on what you want to have done.. We get some done and I really think thats a point we as weight loss patients need to address with the government.. I was on Dr Sharma's post a while back and suggested ADVOCATING .. but who knows..
