Hello everyone!!!!
I'm Kris and i was finally approved for WLS this morning!! I started my journey quite awhile ago and am so happy to finally be where i am today. I was referred back in 2007 and had my first appointment march of 2008, i was turned away before i even met the surgeon. I was a smoker and pregnant. I didnt know that it was a must to be a non smoker and i assumed that if i could be seen that we could continue appointments after the baby was born. But that didnt happen so in May 2008 i had another referral put in. I never recieved a call and waited and waited, my finace and i decided to try for another baby so i wasnt to worried that nothing had come of it. After a 15 months of trying we had no luck in the baby department, i was getting real down in the dumps when the phone rang. In 2009 i had my gallbladder removed and when that took place my referral for WLS had been misplaced and they had just found it. So on Nov 23 2010 i had my first appointment. i was given the new diet plan and sent home to prove i could reduce portions and lose weight. In the first month i lost 25 lbs!!!!! WOW! i was so happy i cried. Then i just had my 2ndmonth check up and another 18 lbs gone! 43 gone in just 2 months and he approved me for surgery. so now i sit and wait for the phone to ring again. He said 3-4 months and i cant wait. little scared but so excited.
Anyways, that was real long. Sorry!!! Just wanted to say hello and hope to make some friends here!
