well I had my RNY last wednesday. I was discharged Friday Night( I could have stayed until saterday if I wanted but My husband didn't have a place to stay in Red Deer so we would have to come home and then come back in the snow storm) I I left with him and prayed we made it home together in one peice!! We did. saturday was rough!! Sunday I felt light headed and nauseated and weak so \i went in to the hospital here were they determined I was just dehydrated and topped me up withan IV then sent me home. Yesturday went well lots of rest and brings us to today...I hope it goes well.MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN AMAZING!! He has just went back to work today and my mom is comming to stay with me for the day.

I am bruised all over from just under my breasts down to my knees from the surgery and all the shots I got not to mention my arms form all the IV pokes and blood tests being done .  I am never hungry and feel nauseated all the time now. I am living on diluted apple juice and skim milk so I can take my meds( which make me gag)  My neck andshoulders are sore and the magic bag isn't helping too much. I had the worst gas but have managed to get most of it out now, yes I had my a bowel movement wich wasn't bad at all kinda surprised me actually. I got my period the night I came home..that sucked but at least I had pain meds going on so I didn't really have to to deal with the pain of it.

All and all I am happy and feel no regret about have rny done...well maybe when for a second when I came out of the anesthetic I did..I was shaking so bad and calling for help but then I I don't remember anything until I woke up in my room. Hubby sais I came out late from the recovery room, I was in there for 3 hours.

I was about 6lbs heavier on saterday than whenI went in on wednesday. today I am 3lbs lighter than when I went in on went in on wednesday. YAY!!!!!! I am looking forward to the nest couple of weeks..watching my body recover and slowly get back to  what will be my new normal.  I am off wor****il the 2nd of february. I got for my follow up on the 1st of Feb. I am so happy with everything!!!

Hugs ladies:)

Congrats on the successful surgery and joining us on the losers bench! Feel free to ask any questions and I'm sure someone can help you...but remember your surgeon should be your first call if you think there may be something wrong.

I had mine on Wednesday as well, in Med Hat.  Didn't get home til Sunday.  Had a bit of a bleed, so had to had 2 units of blood.  That has resolved now, thank goodness.  I still feel like crap, and am having huge regrets.  My husband has also been amazing.  Have only been able to eat about 1/4 cup at a time, and ice.  My tummy feels full all the time.  I have only had dry heaves a few times to hope that is ok.  Do you have a g-tube left in?  That is gross and I really want it out - one more week.  My staples are itchy.  Was yours laproscopic or open?  How soon should I be feeling like myself again?  Did you have an NG tube?  I feel like I am kind of dozy - probably lack of calories.  Thanks for your post and your positiveness.

I had no tubes left in...only 5 bandaides to cover the port sites. Wow 1/4 cup is too much for me!!! I bet I only lick the spoon and feel sick to my stomach...hopeing this passes soon!!

contgrats, i am sure you may be regretting it now but in a few months you will be really happy! I am still a year and a half away from my surgery date.  5 years in total waiting time, way to long to think about the decision, lol.  I hope you are feeling better and I hope to see more updates.  Hearing about the early days is really good for us waiting to read so we know what is in store.
