Hyperventilating here!!

I never called in at all...when i went for my consult I had them put me on the cancellation list.  Originally my surgery was for the end of Oct 2012 and then in November they moved it to Oct 3 due to cancellation and then Dec 3  Igot a call for January. 

Will keep fingers crossed that you get a call soon!  Probably wouldn't hurt to call and see even.

Hi!  Yes, I believe I am on the cancellation list.  But I should probably phone in again.  It has been a couple of months.  After my consult, I decided to go the lap route and that is what Dr. Nohr filled out on the paperwork I took to the front desk.  When I got the date I just about fell over.  So long away.  About a month later I phoned in to see if the wait for open was any shorter and it was only by about a month.  So I stayed with the lap appointment I had.  I am guessing that cancellations happen more with open just because two open surgeries take the same time as a lap surgery.  I may have hooped myself going the lap route but I only went that way because I thought it was less invasive.  No other reason.  I hope I get my date moved up.  Two years seems so long away and I am only getting older.  I'll cross my fingers.
You must be SO excited.  Wow, I'd be spinning circles in your shoes.  Enjoy your Christmas and 2011 is gonna be one new and exciting year for you.  What a great way to start off...

I know how you feel Melissa, I got my call a couple of weeks ago and Im scheduled for Jan 31st, almost a year less of a wait then they had booked at the consult! I definitely got my Christmas present early this year :)

 Hello!  I'm new here and it looks there are not too many guys in here (?!).....
Anyway, we are on the same boat, got a call while being in Toronto on a business trip asking me if I would like to have my surgery on Jan 24, 2011.... almost choked having lunch (lol).  So just 7 days after you, I will be having mine. I'm also having mixed feelings that go from excitement to total terror.... :( .....  QUESTION to all: What kind of pre-op care can I expect? They told me that the hospital would call me with instructions but I haven't gotten any call yet.  Cheers everybody!!!

 

Hey Alex!  Not many men that I am aware of.  Only 4 that I know of, myself included.

Not sure what to expect since you're going under the knife wiht Dr. Nohr and I had my VSG up in Edmonton with Dr. Karamli.  However, my brother had a RNY wiht Nohr about 4 years ago.

Welcome to the forum.  I look forward to commiserating with someone else of the male perspective.
