So while cooking supper the Nait Newswatch comes on and our very own Dreena is being interviewed about her hoops and hooping classes. I was so excited to sit and watch it. I just know that she is going to inspire so many people to get active and enjoy life no matter what size they are.
Also wanted to say good job to Alex who was apart of her segment.

Kee.

Awww!

Kee, thank you for your kind words.  You just made me cry (in a good way!)

Alot of what people don't know is that I used to be the shy kid, the kid who hid in phys ed (because I was uncoordinated), got picked last, ashamed, out of shape etc.   I still struggle with my shyness and people who do know me can't believe it! Ha!

Thank you, ...I can't see myself as an inspiration yet, but so many people are excited to try hooping and I'm excited for them when they feel good, when they find an activity that they can do, when small barriers are broken down!

I look at the video and I cringe a little bit, but I make sure to put that negative voice in check and really embrace who I am right now, what I'm achieving and the people I love meeting right now.

I love that the NAIT feature really focused on my husband as well, if it weren't for him believing in me, supporting me and using his skills to build that first hoop to meet my needs...I don't believe for a second I'd be in this beautiful place.

The reporter, Linda, will be posting the video to her youtube channel (possibly tomorrow) so I'll make sure to come back to this post and share the link.

THanks for your support Kee, that was very nice for you to give me a long-distance pat on the back!

So many people helped out with the feature that Linda did, and I have to give kudos to them for coming out in the cold!  I guess in the process of doing her feature production and editing many people were just flashes across the screen or cut:

People who contributed to the interviews and hooping segments:

Alex and his lovely wife Dawn came to be interviewed in person with Linda

Adrianna came out and hooped and showed her pedometer and shared with Linda.
Sarah came out and hooped with us and shared
Nancy came out with her hoop and hooped up a storm and show some moves

Elizabeth (not on this site) came out to hoop with her hoop and show some things she's learned in class

My husband was in the interview process as well as hooping

My daughters were at the gym hooping as well.

I wish everyone could have been given time and credit for everything that they contributed because they are all so important to me!

Hugs to all of you!

THanks Adrianna!   (also for finding the link to Linda's Nait Newswatch video this morning and posting it on my facebook page!)

Here's the YouTube video of the Nait feature:

Thanks Kee!  I wasn't even really there to talk about hooping.  I was hoping for a plug for EBSG as a support group in Edmonton, but it worked out very well anyway.  Linda did a very good job at producing that piece. I was very impressed at the quality of a "school project".

Cheers!
