Surgery date scheduled!

Ive been reading this forum off and on over the past couple of years and finally decided to register and participate. I've been waiting for what seems like forever (close to 6 years) and finally have a surgery date of January 31st, 2011 with Dr Nohr in Medicine Hat! Of course Im amazingly excited .... but as I get closer to the surgery date I know Im going to have questions so Im hoping by joining this forum I might be able to get some answers when they arise? Ive done the research, hours and hours of it but a first hand perspective of what happens from people that have actually gone through this would be so appreciated.

Congrats, on your surgery date.  I had my surgery with Dr. Nohr on Nov.22 and so far all has gone very well. Dr. Nohr and all the staff at the medicinr hat hospital are fantastic, you will definately be in excellent hands.  Any questions just ask, i would be more than happy to answer any that i can.  Arlene

I am scheduled for surgery January 19, 2011 with Dr Nohr.  I am so excited, I am sure everyone is getting tired of hearing me talk about it.  I found this forum recently and  am so looking forward to making new friends and receiving support from others that have went through the same thing.

I hope we keep in touch, we can count down the days together!

hi there & welcome! I underwent surgery with Dr. Nohr in nov/07 & had a very uneventful/"normal" recovery. I lost 152 lbs. over the course of the 1st 10 mths., had panni surgery nov/08 & in total after a full year, lost 174 lbs. I have maintained this loss for over 3 years & all of my past health concerns have disappeared! Went from a size 26/5x down to a size 3/4!!! I live in Medicine Hat & would be willing to visit you after surgery if you like. Just let me know. Rosalie
