Future EBSG Meetings - Important Notice

Hi Everyone

Unfortunately, we have yet to secure a location for our meetings for 2011.  We apparently cannot get in to the Jean Hamilton Room.  Does anyone have any ideas of a place where we could meet, would have chairs for WLS members who are pre-op (no sides to chairs, sturdy), minimal cost, and we can meet monthly?   Alex is in the midst of drafting a letter to Dr. Sharma regarding our predicament prior to this regarding no recognition, and now, no room at the inn for us.  This is absolutely rediculous.  After 5 years, this group is not breaking up.

What about at the NorthEast Health Centre? They have the same chairs that the Jean Hamiliton room has, since there is a few of the modules held there.

I am looking into that option.  It's the Spencer Room in the Northeast Community Health Centre.  I have a contact who is away right now, but I hope to here something before Christmas.

Yeah, that's it. I just couldn't remember the name of the room. The other plus side of NEHC is we don't have to pay for parking there. Or what about the new East health Centre? I've never been in it, but they should have board rooms or something.

New east health centre.  Not sure which one you mean.  Sherwood Park?

nope..it just opened a little bit ago I believe. It is on 112ave and about 79 street. Right before the Save-on-foods that is near the Stadium.

Yeah, it's on the news all the time with how it's supposed to be open by now, but it's really only got a small portion of it open...what parts...I do not know.

It was supposed to replace the public health centre near rexall, plus offer programs/supports and ease pressures on the NECHC.

It is on 112 avenue, as Adrianna said, between 82 st and right beside Borden Park.

do we know the day of our january meeting??

Unfortunately, not yet.  I haven't been able to confirm the booking process just yet. However, I inquired earlier today about this.  I am expecting a response by the end of the week.

Notwithstanding, Tracy has suggested either Jan 3 or 10.  Seeing as the University is closed Jan 3, it will have to be the 10th, unofficially, unless something is booked.
