countdown
Well the countdown is on.
I had bloodwork done today a call from the pre admi office..things must be starting!! She told me I'd never drink pop again. I had never heard or read about that, not that I recall anyway I knew for several months.. anyway i only have a diet pepsi every other day or so. So i'm not worried about it anyway.
I find I am eating lots this week and having all my fav meals.. a last chance kind of thing.. anyone else feel like that before your surgery? I'm sure its normal..

Thats waht I had originally thought, (it depends on the person) because generally I hear alot of that here. Where some people can eat one thing and others not at all.. weird.
My first few weeks should be do-able since I already love yogurt and cottage cheese and cream soups etc.. need help finding that unflavoured protien to add into them but i do have skim milk powder for the double milk recipes that work too :)

Hi Dori,
She told you that you'd never drink pop again??? HORSE MANURE!!!!! lol I sometimes drink caffeine free diet pepsi, but I do find that it helps me to pack a couple pounds back on so I normally steer clear of it. If I recall from the handouts from Amanda at Dr Norh's.... it says to avoid carbonated drinks for the fist 2 months (8 weeks). And if anyone tells you to not drink ANYTHING carbonated cause it will stretch your pouch..... HORSE MANURE to them too!!!! lol There's no way it can stretch your pouch cause it has an opening at the top and bottom and the carbonation is either gonna make you burp or toot. lol (Had to think of a nice way to say that last one).
My last meal before surgery was at Medicine Hat Buffet across from the mall up on Dunmore Drive. BEST buffet I have ever found aside from Tin Tin Buffet and Hometown Buffet (both in the States). Very rarely do I eat out now. Normally when my hubby and I go out to eat, he'll order something to eat for himself, I'll order a decaf coffee and MAYBE pick at something proteinish on his plate. lol
And...... I wouldn't worry about the last meal syndrome that you're experiencing right now..... you WILL be able to eat your favorite foods again, in time, in SMALLER, healthier portions. It just takes time, my friend.
If you have ANY other questions, don't be afraid to ask.... you know where to find me.
*hugs*
