Well I am three days post op and feel like crap.  It hurts every time I take any kind of fluid down. I figured there would be some pain but not like this.  I usually have a high tolerance to pain which seems to be letting me down right now.  On top of that I gained 10lbs in the hospital go figure I know my good commen sense tells me it is the iv fluids because I am swollen I guess I hoped for some movement in the scale as I was so close to being under 300lbs for the first time in 15 years.
I get home yesterday to a call from my short term disability carrier and they may not approve my claim as this surgery is classed as cosmetic, unless I can prove it was medically necessary.  The discrimination continues.
I guess I just needed to vent and start getting over my pity party.
Thanks

Congrats on a successful surgery first off! Secondly, it does get better. My first 6 days post surgery were really bad. And once I was released from the hospital after the 3rd day, I was in so much pain and hardly slept. I would take my meds, sleep for an hour, and be wake and in pain until I could take my next dose.

You are swollen and you will be for a bit. You took the first few steps and went to the clinic and then got surgery, it will be a bit of an uphill battle at first but your are well on your way. Congrats again!

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time!  I'm 12 days from having my surgery and suspect I'll have many of the same issues so I appreciate you sharing your experiences.

Which insurance company are you getting your short-term disability through?  I'm hoping I don't have the same problems with mine.

I hope your recovery speeds up and you're feeling more comfortable soon!

Thanks for the words of encourgement they have helped.  Each day is a little easy although it still hurts when the liquid hits the stomach.
My insurance carrier is Great West Life.  The nurse at the clinic was really helpful when I told her what was happening.  So have my fingers crossed.
Thanks again

I to am getting the shoulder pain although the resident I saw today at Dr Birch's office said it shouldn't be gas pain but had not other answer.  My incisions are good and not alot off pain there which is great.  I have to go back next week to see Dr Birch to check on the pain in my stomach.
Hopefully a week will make a difference.
I am glad you are feeling  better and am sure I will soon I feel good otherwise.  Isn't it fantastic to see the numbers go down on the scale.  They weighed me to day at the clinic and for the first time in 15 years I am under 300lbs.  I felt like crying.  Since the day before surgery weigh in I have lost all the fluid weight I gained after surgery and almost another 8lbs.  Feeling good about that.  Hope it continues.
Thanks for the advise and good luck with your journey.
