Hooping and fun
Dreena, thank you so much for your class in Hooping last night. Wow, do I feel it today...(especially having done Belly Dancing earlier that day...lol)
I'm looking forward to seeing the article in the Edmonton Journal. You will have to let us know when that is printed.
I'm sure we will all have to work at our own speed, but you are an inspiration to us all. Thank you.

Nancy,
Were you feeling it today? I gotta tell you my backside and my shoulders feel it a little bit...and I DID NOT get to do bellydance yesteday! Look how strong you must be!
You guys did great! The majority of you had that hoop going immediately! It will get easier, then you'll be doing it longer. You're a really fun and fantastic group of people!
Do you love your new hoop? It's so pretty
Shawn(Sean?) Edmonton Journal photographer/videographer... Although a complete surprise was a trooper! I'm glad that he tried hooping with us and was willing to put himself out there. Unfortunately he didn't get everything he needed (sad face) as we didn't get the last 15 minutes of the class. He was hoping for some still photos and the other ball players came in and we got cut off. He did interview me afterwards as well in the hall. So I hope everything comes together. I imagine I was hot, sweaty, dishevelled looking...but very happy! Shawn had fun wiht us, he said he'd hoop with us in a heartbeat! LOL. SEE aren't we all so much fun! Now he can go show off his skills to his kids :)
I will let you know if things go to print/or online. I was very open hooping changing my life as I battle with obesity! I'm putting it out there!!! (despite society sometimes frowning on heavy people). HOOPING is for everyone, of every size, of every age, of every fitness level. I truly believe this.
Thanks to everyone who participated! Thank you Nancy, for being a cheerleader for me! xoxo
And yes! Always, absolutely go at your own speed. You're already ahead of what I could do when I first picked up a hoop!
What happens when the students surpass the teacher!?? :)

Yes, I was absolutely feeling it today...an hr (or part thereof) is certainly long enough, especially for us beginners. And yes, I love my new hoop....when I actually got it home, I realized there is no way this is going to be used in the house...lol....it's way bigger than I thought...I'll use it for our classes and then have to wait and use it outside or in the garage when the weather changes back to "good stuff".
You won't have to worry in the least about students surpassing the teacher...lol I'm sure that the better we get, the better you will get....and it's all about moving right?
Big hugs and thanx again...:)

I do waist hooping practice with my 48' at home in the livingroom. If your arm reaching out to all sides in a circle doesn't hit anything then you're safe. WHen mine slips down it may hit the couch cusion but no harm to the hoop or the cushion! (unless the cat chooses to look at me cross-eyed from there) bwahah!
