Reminder: EBSG Peer Support Group Meeting - Monday!!
Hi All!
Just a reminder that the next Edmonton Bariatric Peer Support Group meeting occurs on Monday, Nov 8 @ 5:30pm in the Jean Hamilton Room at the RAH Community Services Building. (Same building that the WW clinic is located in.) All are welcome.
On the agenda is a hooping demonstration and Q&A by Dreena. Also, discussion about the annual EBSG Christmas Social.
It's shaping up to be an excellent meeting. See you then!

Hi Kelly-Anne,
I'm bringing practice hoops in a variety of sizes, these are undecorated hoops that I use for fittings and classes. I'll also be bringing a few decorated hoops so you can see what a custom hoop looks like, plus tape samples so you can see the variety of choices available to you.
Part of what hubby and I do is a complete 'fitting/consultation" if you will...because we want everyone to love and USE their hoop.
Part of that is finding the right fit based on your body size, your body shape and your height. Also, your fitness level, what you think FEELS good on your body. We've put alot of science, math and FUN into our hoop building. Which we will talk about at the meeting if anyone is interested.
We also consider what your goals are for your hooping (just waist, waist and arms), tricks, hoopdance etc. And then the fun....you get to make it your own by choosing what colour combinations and tapes reflect your personal style. It's all about you!
So while I won't have a hoop for you to leave the meeting with, you will get to try everything out for yourself, (very important to us!) and you CAN choose your hoop size and colours and we'll make it for you and it will be ready in about 7-10 days.

As far as price, you can get a beautiful hoop made with three colours (one metallic, one vinyl and one coloured grip tape) for around $65. As everything is custom, you can go as basic and as fancy as you want. I've made some basic hoops for about $54. If you find the fit you love...you'll be using the heck out of it all winter (and summer!).
