Home!
I made it! Wow, that was quite the ride. Had my surgery a few days ago. I arrived very early, first one in. I am not a morning person so had to be up at 4 am to make it for check in at 6 am~ being half unconsicous helps with the stress levels. I had spent a lot of time trying to pick what to bring to the hospital but basically used nothing but my glasses.
The staff are all very kind. My stomach was super swollen after, and it was really painful to move in and out of the bed. Had my first lovely experiences with the dreaded bed pan. And then was able to get up to use the ladies room on my own. They flood you with salene after so I needed to pee all the time. Its a busy hospital so spent the day trying to walk up and down the hall, and then because I was quite healthy or had no complications I was discharged after two nights.
The two hour drive home was a bit scary for me but they gave me gravol and a pain killer before I left early on morning 3.
Most of the incisions are so tiny I could barely find them. The one by my belly button and the one to the right of that are about half an inch? and much more sore. The gas is brutal so I use a few gasx strips and walk once or twice a day just up and down the house and street.
I am rediculously full eating like one spoon of anything. NUTS.
Last night I had the tiniest bit of broth and sat at the table while my whole family had the thanksgiving spread. We all complained about being full, ha ha.
It's my birthday coming up in a bit. So I think of it as the beginning of the new me. I am a little nervous about the outcome of this body of mine but hey, surprises are good, right?
